The weather co-operated on Friday for the 68 jumpers to come down. Last to qualify was Takeuchi Taku with an 107,5 meter jump.
Ten best to qualify had 3 jumpers from Japan. Noriaki Kasai was the best with his 134 meter jump. Finland's comeback jumper Janne Ahonen had a promising 117,5 meter jump. This qualification round generally will make team competition interesting.
Poland's Adam Malysz was the only disappointment with his 101 meter jump.
The team competition starts 6 pm and individual competition on Saturday 4pm.
